Age Appropriate

Do you remember Chloe Moretz from Kick Ass and Diary Of A Wimpy Kid? What do you think of her dress? I really like it but just don't think its appropriate for a 14 year old girl to be wearing. Maybe I am getting old and stuck in my ways. What do you think?

Wow, she doesn't look fourteen. Setting her age aside, I think it looks good. It's pretty sophisticated for someone her age, but given her career, dressing up is part of the job. I don't think it's possible to be a sweet and innocent kid when the world is expecting you to rise up and be another style icon.

Oh dear, yeah that's not very appropriate for a fourteen year old. I know quite a few teens in Singapore who are in the music/theatre/TV business who dress like that or worse!

I must say though, I do like the outfit. Just on someone older!

I agree. It's kind of scary to see how "out there" kids/teens dress these days. I mean, 14? That's pretty young. I believe in dressing the way you want but I mean, it just seems so...revealing. You have to leave something to the imagination! Hahaha.
I love your blog, by the way!

What she is 14? Why did she leave the house looking like this? omg what did the parents said?

I'm a fan of Chloe's so you can take that into account, but I think this is being blown a bit out of proportion.

First off, she didn't "leave the house" in the dress like some regular kid heading for the mall or club. She's an actress who rented it for a day so she could wear it to attend the premiere of her movie at a major international film festival. For special events like these, she gets to style it up.

Second, the dress is rather conservative and I disagree with Samantha's belief that it's revealing. I think it gives the illusion of being revealing because the top half is semi-translucent, but you're not seeing anything you're not supposed to.

Would I recommend it for the normal 14-year-old? No. But for actress going before the press at a major event? Why not?

Are you serious that she is only 14? Thats crazy!!! I thought she was like 25! I would never let my 14-year old out like that - no matter how famous she was.
