Holidays Part 1

I have taken a week off work to show my cousin from Wales around Brisbane. The whole weekend was awful weather it did not stop raining. The only good thing about the rain was I got to use my new umbrella my friend gave me and that we got in some retail therapy. I purchased the coolest address book ever, the book Eat Pray Love, some gorgeous bangles and cd's from John Butler Trio (April Uprising), The Cat Empire (Cinema), Angus and Julia Stone (Down the Way). Thank god the weather cleared up on Monday as I think I would have spent way to much money other wise. Monday we went to the Botanical Gardens, Brisbane City/Fortitude Valley, Southbank and finished the day off by doing the City Cat trip on the Brisbane River. It was kind of cool being a tourist in your home town and showing off what your city has to offer. Tuesday was a train wreck of a day we went to Byron Bay and it bucketed down all day long. We went to the light house and the rain was that heavy that you could not even see the ocean. Needless to say another day of retail therapy, but I did behave my self and didn't buy anything.

OOPS

I can not believe what happened on Austalia's Next Top Model. Poor Sarah Murdoch announced Kelsey as the winner when it was Amanda. I feel so sorry for everyone involved in the mistake. Kelsey was so sweet and understanding. I think this shot says it all so many different emotions running through each girls face.

Carnival of Flowers

I have wanted to go to The Carnival of Flowers in Toowoomba for so long. But Hubby always comes up with a excuse to get out of it. But this year I twisted his arm and bribed him with food and he took me. So I took Hubby to a nice cafe and we ordered our meal and it was the worst meal ever. I hate it when you go out for a meal and you think I could have done better than this at home. Needless to say I now owe him big time, you see flowers just aren't his thing. I realise now I should have gone with one my girls. All I can say is the photos don't do it justice. I had a amazing day and other than the crowds I really enjoyed my self.

The Farm

One of my closest friends Delvene has left the big smoke and moved to the country. It was her housewarming last weekend which included a camp fire, petting zoo,compost and worm farm exhibitions. Delvene is thriving in the country and loving every minute of it, I dont mind visiting the country but living there is another thing.
