Falling Back To Earth

I will apologise now for the overload of photos. On Sunday I went to the Gallery Of Modern Art in Brisbane to see the Cai Guo-Qiang art installation called, " Falling Back To Earth". The first installation was called, "Head On"  and it consisted of 99 wolves in a vertical loop, only to hit a glass wall before returning to the beginning.

The installation is all about human nature and how we gain power and momentum through unity.
The glass wall suggests that we may not  even be aware of an obstacle and that invisible barriers are sometimes the hardest walls to destroy. All in all it was a  pretty amazing and very clever.

The next installation was called, "Heritage" and it was mind blowing. This installation also has 99 animals from all around the world, gathered together to drink from a single waterhole. This installation was massive in size and I loved everything about it.

Walking around this installation I had a lump in my throat and I was finding it really hard not to cry.  Like the single drip that breaks the surface of the water and interrupts the stillness of the room. The installation raises questions that activates the strange and peaceful tableau, what brought these animals together, and how can the predators and prey in this gathering relate to each other? If Heritage portrays the perfect paradise, does it also symbolise Earth's sorrow? That's direct from the programme, and it resonates so well with what I was feeling while I was there.

If you have a chance to see this exhibition please go, you wont be disappointed it is truly amazing!!!
Happy Hump Day and enjoy the rest of your week

Blues Fest Part 1

Wow, what a adventure we have been on. I am totally exhausted but in a good way. The Festival was amazing my absolute favourite band was KC and the Sunshine Band. The atmosphere when they were playing was indescribable. You had oldies and youngies having such a blast and I had no idea how many brilliant songs they sang.
First I thought I would show you the outfits I wore each day. All vey simple and very comfortable. I learnt by day 2 not to wear thongs, due to the mess on the toilet floors. I just don't understand how girls can make such a mess.
I also got over my hat phobia and wore it pretty much every day of the festival. My gumboots were not required as we had perfect weather for the whole five days. Maybe they were required in the girls toilets by the end of day 3 though.
My other favourite bands were Ozomatli, Dubmarine, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zero's and who can go past John Butler Trio. My only peeve was guitar solo's drive me insane and at this festival there is a lot of guitar solo's.
I hope you all had a lovely Easter Break. I will be back soon with photos from the actual festival. Unfortunately I didn't take that many photos as I was to busy having a good time xxx

Dangerfield Autumn Lookbook

I am loving the new looks that Dangerfield have out  this season. I never normally wear skirts, I am pretty much a dress girl. I have decided this season,I am going to find the perfect skirt. My problem is my waist is to big and my hips are to small and I end up with baggy bits of material around my hips, so wish me luck. I am also loving that mustard colour and will be adding more of that colour into my wardrobe for this season. Happy Easter to all of you. I am heading to the Byron Bay Blues and Roots Festival for 5 glorious days of music, mud and hopefully sunshine. Don't worry I have packed two pairs of gumboots. A girl can never have to many gumboots for a festival xxx

Savouring The Summer Heat

We always catch up with my Girlfriend to give her kids Christmas presents. I am  disgusted  that it took us to March to actually find the time to catch up. Working 6 day weeks and lots of weekends makes life really dull. It's just not good for your soul!!!
It was a perfect day and the kids loved their presents, which is always good . You can always tell with a child if they love or hate a present, just by the looking at their little faces.
Before we went down the coast we popped into Kmart where I saw this little raft which I just had to have. Hubby thought it was a waste of time. But in fact everyone was arguing to have a go in it. Including the big kids.
Talking about big kids, all the big kids had a couple of jumps from the bridge into the water. I was to much of a chicken but I promised the kids I would do it next time. My computer broke last week and it has taken for ever to get it back up and working. Retrieving my photo's has been a nightmare. Thank goodness Hubby is a genius and has fixed everything for me. Hope you all had a lovely weekend xxx

How I Met Your Mother

I am such a big fan of How I Met Your Mother and I am so disappointed with the ending. I read all over the Internet that you will either lover or hate the finale. I just presumed I was going to love it. I don't want to spoil it if you haven't seen it. If you have seen it, what were your thoughts???? Was I just expecting to much???
